Jeddah, 24 November (HIST). The first day of the mega auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia has ended. As expected, Indian players were showered with huge amounts of money on Sunday. A total of 84 players were bid on Sunday, out of which Rs 467.95 crore was spent on 72 players, while 12 players were not bought by anyone. Prominent among the unsold players were veteran players like Devdutt Padikkal, Jonny Bairstow and David Warner, who could not find any buyer.
In the auction process, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer were bid heavily and both the players were sold at record prices. First Shreyas was bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 26.75 crore. Shreyas became the most expensive player in IPL history till that time. However, after some time, Rishabh Pant entered the auction and was bought by Lucknow Supergiants for Rs 27 crore. Pant thus became the player sold at the highest price in the IPL auction. Pant and Shreyas left behind the record of Mitchell Starc (25 crores) made last year in this matter.
Apart from Pant and Shreyas, big bids were also made on Venkatesh Iyer on the first day, who was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for Rs 23.75 crore. At the same time, big bids were also placed on Indian fast bowlers Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal and KL Rahul. Arshdeep and Chahal were bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 18 crore. At the same time, Delhi included Rahul in the team for Rs 14 crore. Meanwhile, the franchises also spent a lot of money on uncapped players like Nehal Wadhera, Suyyash Sharma and Abdul Samad and these players became millionaires.

-The base price of Harry Brook is Rs 2 crore. Delhi Capitals bought Harry Brook for Rs 6.25 crore.
-Aiden Markram was bought by Lucknow for his base price of Rs 2 crore.
-Devon Conway was bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 6.25 crore. His base price was Rs 2 crore.

-Harshal Patel’s base price was Rs 2 crore, Hyderabad bought him for Rs 8 crore.
-Rachin Ravindra joined CSK for Rs 4 crore.
-Ravichandran Ashwin was bought by CSK for Rs 9.75 crore.
-Venkatesh Iyer was bought by KKR for Rs 23.75 crore. Venkatesh’s base price was Rs 2 crore.
-Marcus Stoinis was added to the team by Punjab Kings for Rs 11 crore.
-Lucknow made a bid of Rs 3.40 crore for Mitchell Marsh.
-Glenn Maxwell was taken by Punjab Kings for Rs 4.20 crore.

-Quinton de Kock’s base price was Rs 2 crore, KKR bought him for Rs 3.60 crore.
-RCB bought Phil Salt for Rs 11.50 crore.
-KKR bought Rahmanullah Gurbaz for his base price of Rs 2 crore.
-Sunrisers Hyderabad bought Ishan Kishan for Rs 11.25 crore. Ishaan’s base price was Rs 2 crore.
-RCB added Jitesh Sharma to the team for Rs 11 crore. Jitesh’s base price was Rs 1 crore.

-RCB bought Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood for Rs 12.50 crore.
-Gujarat Titans bought Prasidh Krishna for Rs 9.50 crore.
