Purnia, March 9 (His). Along with Behavioral Court, Purnia, National Lok Adalat was also organized in Banmankhi, Dhamdaha and Bayasi subdivisions on Saturday. A total of 2933 cases were disposed of in this Rashtriya Lok Adalat. In 2335 bank loan cases, a compromise was reached by waiving the interest amount as much as possible for Rs 9 crore 8 lakh 44 thousand 769. Rs 3 crore 83 lakh 52 thousand 976 were immediately recovered in bank loan.
In criminal cases, 395 cases were settled on the basis of compromise. A settlement of Rs 2 lakh 24 thousand was made in 12 cases of check bounce. One case of execution suit was settled in which a settlement of Rs 14 lakh 38 thousand 693 was made. Insurance companies were instructed to pay Rs 52 lakh to the beneficiaries in 7 cases of motor accident claim suit. In one case of Labor Department, the case was closed after recovery of Rs 1000. In 77 cases of the Electricity Department, the suit was executed by receiving an amount of Rs 3 lakh 92 thousand. 17 post-marital cases (except divorce) were settled. A settlement of Rs 1 lakh 23 thousand 347 was made in 88 cases of BSNL, out of which Rs 99 thousand 571 was recovered immediately.
A total of 16 benches were formed in the premises of Civil Court Purnia for speedy disposal of cases and one bench each was also formed in the three sub-divisional courts. As per the instructions of District and Sessions Judge Sujit Kumar Singh, panel advocates also participated along with judicial officers for execution of cases in each bench.
Five help desks were created for the convenience of the parties. Para volunteers and para legal volunteers were appointed in each. Male and female police forces were also deployed at the spot. The entire arrangement was being supervised by Chairman District Legal Services Authority cum District and Sessions Judge Sujit Kumar Singh and Secretary Nishant Kumar Priyadarshi.
