A total of 162 suspected cases in Chandipura, Gujarat, 73 children have died so far

Ahmedabad: Till date, there are a total of 162 suspected cases of Chandipura in Gujarat. Out of which 60 cases are positive. So far, this deadly virus has affected 73 children.

According to the data from the Health Department of Gujarat Government, there are a total of 162 cases of viral encephalitis in the state of Gujarat. The suspected cases have been found in Sabarkantha, Aravalli-07, Mahisagar-04, Kheda-07, Mehsana-10, Rajkot-07, Surendranagar-06, Ahmedabad Corporation-12, Gandhinagar-08, Panchmahal-16, Jamnagar-08, Morbi-06, Gandhinagar Corporation-03, Chhotaudepur-02, Dahod-04, Vadodara-09, Narmada-02, Banaskantha-07, Vadodara Corporation-02, Bhavnagar-01 Devbhoomi Dwarka-02, Rajkot Corporation-04, Kutch-05, Surat Corporation -02, Bharuch-04, Ahmedabad-02, Jamnagar Corporation-01, Porbandar-01, Patan-01, Gir Somnath-01, Amreli-01 and Dang-01.

Out of these, 06 cases are from Sabarkantha, 03 from Aravalli, 03 from Mahisagar, 04 from Kheda, 05 from Mehsana, 03 from Rajkot, 03 from Surendranagar, 03 from Ahmedabad Corporation, 02 from Gandhinagar, 07 from Panchmahal, 01 from Jamnagar, 01 from Morbi, 03 from Dahod, 02 from Vadodara, 02 from Banaskantha, 01 from Devbhoomi Dwarka, 01 from Rajkot Corporation, 04 from Kutch, 02 from Surat Corporation, 01 from Bharuch, 01 from Ahmedabad, 01 from Porbandar and 01 from Patan district/ corporation. A total of 60 positive cases have been found in Chandipura.

Out of total 162 cases of viral encephalitis in the state of Gujarat, 5 patients have died in Sabarkantha, 3 patients in Aravalli, 2 patients in Mahisagar, 2 patients in Kheda, 5 patients in Mehsana, 4 patients in Rajkot, 2 patients in Surendranagar, 6 patients in Ahmedabad Corporation, 3 patients in Gandhinagar, 7 patients in Panchmahal, 4 patients in Jamnagar, 5 patients in Morbi, 2 patients in Gandhinagar Corporation, 3 patients in Dahod, 4 patients in Vadodara, 1 patient in Narmada, 1 patient in Banaskantha, 1 patient in Vadodara Corporation, 1 patient in Devbhoomi Dwarka, 4 patients in Kutch, 1 patient in Surat Corporation, 1 patient in Bharuch, 1 patient in Jamnagar Corporation, 1 patient in Patan and 1 patient in Gir Somnath.

In Gujarat state 08 patients of viral encephalitis are admitted and 81 patients have been discharged. In Rajasthan, out of total 07 cases, 01 case has been found positive in which 04 patients have been admitted and 03 patients have died. Whereas -06 cases are from Madhya Pradesh, in which -02 patients are admitted and -02 patients have died and -02 patients have been discharged. Apart from this, -01 case is from Maharashtra in which -01 patient is admitted.

A total of 53,519 houses have been surveyed by the health team, which includes the houses and surrounding houses of positive and suspected patients.

• A total of 7,45,418 kutcha houses have been sprayed with Malathion powder
• Spraying has been done in a total of 1,49,638 kutcha houses.
• A total of 30,559 schools were sprayed with Malathion powder and a total of 7,377 schools were sprayed.
• A total of 35,443 angadwadis were sprayed with Malathion powder and a total of 7,660 angadwadis were sprayed.
