The weather of the country has changed. Winter season is going on. North India is immersed in dense fog. It is raining with storm in South India and Northeast India. The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of a cyclonic storm this week. Snowfall is occurring in all three hilly states, which may increase the cold due to cold winds across the country. The Global Meteorological Organization (WMO) has predicted colder than normal readings in North India during the month of December-January due to La Nina effect. When will the cyclonic storm come?
According to the Meteorological Department report, an upper air cyclonic circulation is active over the eastern equatorial Indian Ocean and adjacent South Andaman, extending up to the mid-ocean troposphere. Due to its impact, a low pressure area is likely to form. It is likely to move west-northwestwards towards south-east Bay of Bengal on 23 November. A pressure area will form over central parts of South Bay of Bengal during the next 2 days.
A trough is forming over the cyclonic circulation over the eastern equatorial Indian Ocean and adjacent areas to the south. Western Disturbance has become active due to southerly inclination of winds in the lower and mid tropical levels from Andaman Sea to Gulf of Mannar. Due to its impact, there has been a warning of stormy winds and heavy rains in the coastal states.
Clouds will rain in these states
According to the Meteorological Department report, from today till November 28, there will be light to moderate rain in the states of South India and North-East India. Storm may also occur at some places. There is a possibility of rain in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. There may also be rain at isolated places in Yanam, Mahe and Karaikal.
Due to the impact of the cyclonic storm, wind speed ranging from 35 kmph to 45 kmph and gusting to 55 kmph is likely. Fishermen are advised to avoid visiting Comorin area and Gulf of Mannar, Southeast Bay of Bengal, South Andaman Sea, North Andaman Sea, Southwest Bay of Bengal, Sri Lanka coast and Tamil Nadu coast.
Fog will remain in these states including Delhi
According to the report of the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain dry in North India till 30 November. There will be dense fog in the morning and evening in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh. The sun will shine during the day, but the temperature will drop and you will feel cold. Air pollution has started reducing in Delhi-NCR and light fog has started appearing in the morning and evening. There is relief from sunlight during the day, but due to fog in the morning and evening the temperature is falling and one feels cold. The fans have been completely switched off, while the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of dense fog ahead.
Temperature drops below zero in Kashmir
According to media reports, there is a possibility of snowfall in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh this week. Due to which cold will increase in the plain states and cold winds may blow. At the same time, due to snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, the severity of cold has increased significantly. The temperature is below zero in most parts of Kashmir. The temperature in Srinagar was recorded at 0.4 degrees on Friday. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be light rain or thundershowers at many places in Jammu and Kashmir in the next 2-3 days. There may be light rain or snowfall in the higher reaches of Kashmir.
