A terrible cyclonic storm will come on 23 October! Wind will blow at a speed of 120 kilometers per hour

It will become intense on the night of 24th and morning of 25th

According to the Meteorological Department, this low pressure will move towards west-northwest and will turn into a depression by the morning of October 22. While it is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm over East Central Bay of Bengal by October 23, 2024. Thereafter, it is likely to move northwestwards and reach northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha-West Bengal coast by October 24 morning.

Moving north-westwards, the cyclone is likely to cross north Odisha and West Bengal coast between Puri and Sagar Island during the night of October 24 and morning of October 25, 2024. Meanwhile, the wind will blow at a speed of 100-110 kilometers per hour. The weather department said the wind speed could reach 120 km per hour and the cyclone could turn into a severe cyclonic storm.

'Dana' to cyclonic storm

The Meteorological Department has named this cyclonic storm 'Dana', with which significant changes will be seen in the weather of many states. The Meteorological Department has also issued a rain alert in many parts of the country.

Possibility of heavy rain in these districts

Due to the cyclone, an alert of heavy rain has been issued in some districts of Odisha and West Bengal. Warning of heavy rain has been issued in Cuttack, Nayagarh, Kandhamal and Gajapati of Odisha. There is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder in these areas. Along with this, alert of heavy rain has been given in East Medinipur, West Medinipur, South 24 Parganas and North 24 Parganas of West Bengal. The Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of heavy rain in Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly and Jhargram between October 23 and 24.

The cyclone is threatening the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Bangladesh and Myanmar. There are indications that this system will become stronger and more compact. Whereas the low pressure will move from the north-west towards the central parts of the Bay of Bengal. The cyclone will turn into a depression on October 23. The administration is on alert mode regarding this. Apart from this, fishermen have also been advised to stay away from the coast.
