Raja ruled Ratanpur

The idol of Lord Hanuman in this temple located at Girjabandh in Ratanpur is many years old. It is said that this temple was built by a king named Prithvi Devju. He was a devotee of Lord Hanuman and had great faith in him. Prithvi Devju, who was suffering from leprosy, ruled Ratanpur for many years.

Hanumanji gave these instructions to the king

It is said that once the king was instructed by Hanumanji in his dream to build a temple. After this the construction work of the temple started. When the work of the temple was about to be completed, Hanumanji appeared again in the king's dream and ordered him to take out the idol from Mahamaya Kund and install it in the temple.

The king followed Hanumanji's instructions and removed the idol from Mahamaya Kund. In the idol taken out from the lake, Hanumanji's form was like that of a woman. The king installed the idol in the temple with full ceremony. After installing the idol of Lord Hanuman, King Prithvi Devju got rid of the disease.
