Mumbai: A 14-year-old girl living in Mumbai's Malad and experiencing menstruation for the first time has had her life cut short due to mental stress and pain, causing a stir. It is said that the girl took this extreme step because she was mentally disturbed due to bleeding and pain during menstruation.
On Tuesday, when no one was at home, the girl hanged herself with an iron angle installed in the house.
After this incident, the police recorded the reaction of the parents of the deceased girl. According to the statement given by the girl's parents to the police, the girl lived with them in Kharodi in Malwani area of Malad. Some time ago she had her periods for the first time. Although this is a natural process, the physical and mental changes taking place in the adolescent girl put her under immense stress. Meanwhile, the girl's parents said that she committed suicide by hanging herself when they were not home.
When the girl's parents returned home, they came to know about the incident and with the help of neighbours, the unconscious girl was taken to a nearby private hospital where she died during treatment. As soon as the police got information about this incident, the police team also reached the hospital and took further action by sending the girl's body for post-mortem. Along with this, the police have decided to further interrogate her friends to find out whether menstrual pain or some other reason was the reason behind the girl's suicide.
