A tailor running an 8 by 8 feet tailor shop was caught with a light bill worth Rs 86 lakh.

Valsad: While cases of fraud in the electricity department are continuously being reported in Gujarat, another such case has come to light from Valsad. Where a tailor’s shop has received a light bill of more than Rs 86 lakh. Seeing the bill of so much light, the ground slipped from under the tailor’s feet.

According to the information received in this regard, a tailor named Muslim Ansari runs an 8 by 8 feet shop named New Fashion Tailor in Chorgali market of the city. Usually their bill comes to Rs 1300 to 2500 every month. However, this month’s bill came to Rs 86,41,540.

When such a huge bill came, Ansari felt that the electricity department employee might have made a mistake in the meter reading. So when he checked the electricity bill online, the same amount was visible. So, he immediately contacted the electricity department and asked to re-check his meter.

Therefore, when the electricity department official investigated, it came to light that the consumption of 1010298 units of electricity was being shown by mistake. Due to which Ansari’s bill came to Rs 86,41,540. Eventually the error was rectified by the electricity department. After which the tailor paid Rs. A bill of Rs 1540 was issued.

However, when the message of light bill of Rs 86 lakh in Valsad went viral on social media, people rushed to show Ansari the tailor shop.
