what was really the matter
Let us tell you that this application was related to land acquisition in 1976, due to which it was decided to pay Rs 90 thousand to the defendants in 1981. However, controversy still persists regarding this issue.
Rajasthan High Court ruled in favor of the state government
According to the report, Rajasthan High Court ruled in favor of the state government. Whereas the Division Bench ruled in favor of the present respondents. Subsequently, the Rajasthan government challenged the decision in the Supreme Court in 2010.
Justice Pardiwala was angry with the delay in the case
During the hearing, when the Supreme Court asked lawyer Archana Pathak Dave, appearing for the state government, about the current status of the land, she asked for time to reply. Justice Pardiwala, highlighting the delay already occurring in the case, said that based on the record, former Chief Justice of India (CJI) R.M. Lodha had appeared in the High Court as a lawyer in this case. He has retired from the post of CJI of this court and yet you are asking for more time for instructions. What is all this?' Saying this, the court reserved its decision in this matter. Also, the parties were asked to file any other information and documents related to the case within 10 days.
