A strange mistake by American leaders created a sensation on the foundation day of US Navy.

A very ridiculous and embarrassing situation arose in America when the country’s top leaders, parliamentarians and important government officials shared pictures of Indian Navy warships on social media while wishing the US Navy on its Foundation Day. In their haste to congratulate the US Navy, American leaders, without any investigation, posted photos of naval ships that were not part of the US fleet. On this historic occasion, netizens and defense experts on the internet slammed American leaders for not recognizing their own military ships and using pictures of powerful warships of the Indian Navy.

The controversy started when graphics and pictures congratulating the Navy were posted from the official Twitter handles of several prominent US Republican and Democratic Party lawmakers. In these posts, instead of the American aircraft carrier, the Indian Navy’s flagship aircraft carrier ‘INS Vikramaditya’ and the state-of-the-art stealth frigate ‘INS Trikand’ were prominently shown. Social media users and military analysts caught wind of the glaring mistake within minutes. Defense lovers immediately found the source of the original pictures and tagged the American leaders and wrote that the leaders of the Navy of which the whole of America is proud, do not understand the difference between their own Navy and the ships of the Indian Navy.

Analysts believe that this mistake is the result of gross negligence on the part of the social media and media management teams of the leaders.
