A staff member with special ties to India was killed in an attack on a UN vehicle in Gaza's Rafah.

Israel Hamas War: The ongoing war between Israel and Hamas is not stopping. United Nations personnel have also started dying in this war. One such case has come to light recently. In which a former soldier of the Indian Army died in the attack on a United Nations vehicle in Rafah, Palestine.

This former Indian Army soldier was currently working for the United Nations. He was currently a member of the United Nations Safety and Security Staff. However, the identity of the former Indian Army soldier has not been identified yet. Another UN staff member was also injured in the attack.

UN chief calls for ceasefire

After the incident, United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has issued a statement. He said, 'It is very sad to hear the news of the death of one DSS employee and the injury of another.' Guterres condemned the attacks on UN staff and called for a full investigation. He has appealed for an immediate ceasefire as well as the release of all hostages.

Antonio Guterres said in a post on Twitter, 'A UN vehicle has been attacked in Gaza. One of our colleagues died and another was injured. More than 190 UN staff have been killed in Gaza. Human workers must be protected. I condemn all attacks on UN personnel and immediately appeal for a second reprisal.

Next of kin are being informed

“We are in the process of notifying the relevant governments and the concerned family members,” said Farhan Haq, a spokesman for Antonio Guterres. Therefore no name or nationality will be disclosed.
