A seminar on single-use plastic organized under 'Virasat' festival

Dehradun, 25 October (H.I.S.). DIT University organized a seminar on single-use plastic as part of the 'Virasat' festival on Friday. Famous writer and environmentalist Dr. Lokesh Ohri participated in this program as the chief guest. He stressed the dangers of single-use plastic and its alternatives.

During the panel discussion at the seminar, experts discussed the environmental harm caused by single-use plastic and its solutions. He said that we all have to make joint efforts to reduce single-use plastic. Additionally, Reach representatives, Joint Secretaries Rajshree and Kunal contributed to the discussion.

The panel discussion discussed various important issues related to the use of single-use plastics, including environmental, economic and social impacts. Experts shared views on sustainable alternatives, regulatory frameworks and the role of technology in reducing SUP waste. An important conclusion from the discussion was to focus on capacity building and creating awareness among all stakeholders to bring about behavioral change in everyday practices, thereby reducing dependence on single-use plastics. The seminar, organized by the School of Design at DIT University, provided useful ideas on future approaches to managing single-use plastics while highlighting the importance of collective responsibility.
