Lord Shiva sits in a pose of eternal meditation on Mount Kailash. It is said that the spiritual power that sustains the universe originates from here. The ancient text Rigveda mentions the Himalayas, their formation and sanctity. Mount Kailash, the holiest peak of the Himalayas, is believed to have been formed three million years ago. Today we will learn about Kailash Mansarovar, which is called heaven on earth.
Kailash Mansarovar is heaven on earth
Kailash Mansarovar is located in Tibet. Mount Kailash is called 'Kangrinbok' i.e. precious gem. According to legend, Lord Shiva performs a cosmic dance on a mountain peak while maintaining the balance of the universe. Kailash Mansarovar is considered the axis of the universe. Where heaven meets earth.
Apart from this, Mansarovar Lake and Rakshatal Lake are also considered sacred. It is said that those who take a dip in Mansarovar get the darshan of heaven. The southern part of Mount Kailash is considered sapphire, the eastern part crystal, the west ruby and the north gold.
The challenging journey makes the devotees Shiva-filled
The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra usually takes 14 days. In which devotees undertake a difficult journey facing challenging climb and harsh weather conditions.
