How much luggage can you carry on the train
A passenger can carry a maximum of 50 kg of luggage while travelling in a train. If they have more luggage than this, they will have to pay the fare for that luggage, for which they will also have to buy a baggage ticket. Apart from this, passengers travelling in AC coaches can easily carry up to 70 kg of luggage without paying any charge. Therefore, passengers taking sleeper tickets can carry only up to 40 kg of luggage with them.
People carrying large luggage while travelling in train will also have to pay a fee. For this they will have to pay at least Rs 30. If you have more luggage than the prescribed limit, then you will have to pay 1.5 times more charge.

Railways has a separate rule regarding medical baggage, under which, on the advice of the doctor, the patient can stand with him carrying an oxygen cylinder.
Cannot carry such items
Carrying any explosive or inflammable material is not allowed during train travel. Apart from this, you can carry luggage up to a maximum of 100 kg after paying the fee.
