Gandhinagar News: On the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, cleanliness festival is being celebrated across the state on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Citizens of Gujarat are also joining in large numbers and making the cleanliness campaign a mass movement. The state government has given priority to environmental protection along with cleanliness by celebrating 'Ek Pad Maan Ke Naam' campaign under Swachhta Hi Seva.

To prevent these areas from turning into garbage heaps again, the State Government is taking initiative to beautify these places by planting trees at dumping sites and sanitation targeted units after cleaning.
The state government's commitment towards environmental protection is reflected in the cleanliness as well as tree plantation initiatives launched under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Under this initiative, which reflects the state government's commitment towards environment and cleanliness, more than 11,000 sanitation targeted units have been cleaned and more than one and a half lakh trees have been planted across the state from September 17 to September 26 to transform the area.
