A new record will be made on Diwali in Ayodhya, the government will light more than 25 lakh lamps during the festival of lights.

Deepotsav in Ayodhya: After the enthronement of Ramlala, preparations have started for the first Deepotsav to create a new world record. The eighth edition of Yogi Sarkar Deepotsav was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, Prof. Deepotsav-2024 is being made historic under the leadership of Pratibha Goyal. For this grand event, preparations have been completed to light more than 25 lakh lamps with the help of 30 thousand volunteers.

On Tuesday, 30 members of the Guinness Book of World Records team led by consultant Nischal Barot counted the lamps at 55 ghats of Saryu. During this, supervisors, ghat in-charge, coordinators and volunteers were present for the lamp counting.

To make the Deepotsav auspicious and grand, the university administration has given necessary guidelines to the volunteers and officials. On the day of Deepotsav on 30th October, one liter mustard bottle will be made available to fill oil in lamps. Volunteers will carefully pour oil into 28 lakh lamps. Apart from this, special care will also be taken that oil does not fall on the ghat.

55 ghats were decorated with 28 lakh lamps

The university administration has completed the work of decorating 55 ghats of Saryu with 28 lakh lamps. For its preparations, the university has deployed a huge team of more than two thousand along with observers, ghat in-charges and counting volunteers. Under his supervision, more than 25 lakh lamps will be lit during Diwali.

Swastika was decorated with 80 thousand lamps

To show the grandeur of this festival of lights on the world stage, the Swastika on ghat number 10 has been decorated with 80 thousand lamps by the volunteers of the university campus. This will send a good message to the whole world. Besides, it will also become a center of attraction.

30 thousand volunteers at 55 ghats…

Under the able guidance of University Vice-Chancellor Professor Pratibha Goyal, 30 thousand volunteers have made a block of 16×16 lamps at 55 ghats, in which 256 lamps have been decorated. In which a volunteer has been given the target of lighting 85 to 90 lamps.

'Entry will not be allowed without I card'

Nodal Officer of Deepotsav Prof. Sant Sharan Mishra said, the work has been finalized by the university administration with the cooperation of Uttar Pradesh government and district administration. Security has been increased at the ghat. Entry without identity card is prohibited.
