Lucknow/Gonda, 7 September (HS). Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's vision is that no district, no village, no person in Uttar Pradesh should be left behind in the race of development. Development should be such that it benefits not only him but also his future generations. Development work should be in accordance with the goals of sustainable development.
Assimilating this vision of the Chief Minister, a unique initiative has been taken for the Vantangiya community living in the forests for years in Gonda district. An initiative has been taken to empower this community socially and economically with the message of cleanliness and sustainable development goals. Taking this campaign of development forward, the district administration has now started efforts to rejuvenate the village in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. This initiative has been started with the core vision of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Yogi i.e. the issue of cleanliness. All the individual toilets built in Vantangiya village were converted into clean toilets. Along with this, the villagers were made aware on a large scale by painting the Sustainable Development Goals on the walls of these toilets, which include important things like cleanliness, health, education, gender equality and environmental protection.
Cleanliness will open the doors to health and prosperity
Regarding this initiative, District Magistrate Neha Sharma said that it is very important to make the villagers aware of the Sustainable Development Goals before benefiting them. She said, “Cleanliness is a big component of this. It opens the way to health and prosperity.” Cleanliness has been given priority to spread this message to the masses. The goals of sustainable development painted on the walls of toilets are motivating people to understand the importance of cleanliness, health, education, and other important aspects and adopt them in their lives. Thus, along with increasing awareness towards cleanliness, efforts are being made to connect every section of the society with the mainstream of sustainable development.
Villagers are getting inspired towards sustainable development goals
The aim of this initiative is not only to spread the importance of cleanliness to the community but also to make them aware of the goals of sustainable development. This campaign was started with the message of “Swachh Sundar Shauchalaya, Bane Hamare Pratishthaalaya” so that this community living in the forests can be sensitized towards cleanliness. This unique initiative of the district administration has taken an important step towards connecting the Vantangiya community with the mainstream of development. This initiative has not only made the community aware of cleanliness but has also inspired them towards the goals of sustainable development. This initiative of the administration will definitely bring positive changes in the lives of this community and will also become a source of inspiration for other backward classes of the society in future.
Yogi government started development
The Vantangiya community lives in the forests of Gonda district and makes its living. For years, this community has been cut off from the mainstream of development. The people living here depend on the forests and lack basic amenities. For the first time under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, an attempt was made to connect this community with the mainstream of development. With the efforts of the district administration, electricity was provided to Ramgarh Vantangiya village for the first time. Roads were constructed, which facilitated the movement of the villagers. On the occasion of Diwali in November 2023, “Vantangiya Mahotsav” was organized in Ramgarh Vantangiya village. The objective of this festival was to benefit this community from various schemes of the government. In this festival, by bringing all the schemes of the government under one roof, the villagers were informed about their benefits and they were motivated to take advantage of these schemes. This step proved to be a milestone, which started a new beginning towards the development of this community.
