Finally the time has come for the formation of an elected government in Pakistan. A coalition government will be formed in Pakistan early next month amid allegations of election rigging and several rounds of talks to form the government. According to media reports, it has come to light that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) are moving towards forming a coalition government by March 2. Along with this, there is also a plan to hold presidential elections before March 9. This information has been given in a media report on Friday. The recent elections in Pakistan resulted in a hung parliament.
Shahbaz Sharif's return to PM post confirmed
It has come to light that former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto's PPP party will support PML-N led by former PM Nawaz Sharif. At the same time, the return of PML-N chief Shehbaz Sharif to the post of Prime Minister is almost certain. His elder brother Nawaz Sharif has already announced his name for the post of Prime Minister. The party says that three-time PM Nawaz Sharif does not want to lead a government in which PML-N does not have a majority in Parliament.
Consideration of holding presidential elections before March 9
However, both the parties, PML-N and PPP were going to form the government. They got fewer seats than independent candidates supported by former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Former PM Imran Khan is currently in jail. The proposal to hold presidential elections before March 9 is being seriously considered. Because by 29 February the newly elected assemblies across the country will take oath and by 2 March the new government will be formed. Outgoing President Dr. Arif Alvi's five-year tenure officially ended in September last year.
