A new expressway will be built from Ayodhya to Prayagraj, construction will start from Parikrama Sthal to Pratapgarh | News India

The National Highways Department is now going to build an expressway instead of the four-lane on the left side of the Ayodhya-Prayagraj highway. A total of Rs 5000 crore will be spent on the construction of this 90 km long expressway. This includes compensation for land acquisition of farmers along with the construction of the expressway. The project is to be completed in three years from the start of construction work.

The Ministry of National Highways and Road Transport has now planned to build a new expressway instead of converting the Ayodhya-Prayagraj highway into a four-lane. Under the plan, the highway was to be converted into a four-lane. But like other four-lanes, the movement of small and rural vehicles on this was also creating a big obstacle in travel and there was always a fear of danger during the journey of long distance vehicles. In view of this, the ministry changed its old decision.

Now a plan has been made to build an expressway by acquiring the land of the farmers on the left side of the Ayodhya-Prayagraj highway. The responsibility of making the DPR of the scheme has been given to TASPL Delhi. In which the new expressway is to be built at a distance of 90 kilometers from Gonde village Sonawaan in Pratapgarh district near the Parikrama Sthal Bharat Kund in Ayodhya.

The width of the expressway will be 38 meters

According to the DPR of the project, the width of the expressway has been fixed at 38 meters. This includes 15-15 meter carriageway on both sides of the main expressway, two meter folder and a service road. There will be restrictions on both sides of the expressway. Neither cattle nor any vehicle will be able to enter from the middle.

The construction work will be done in two phases

According to the standards of National Highway, the expressway will be constructed in two phases. In which the length of each phase has been fixed at 45-45 meters. In the first phase, 84 Kosi Parikrama Sthal will be built at a distance of 45 km from Ayodhya Bharat Kund Parikrama Marg to Katka. In the second phase, construction will be done at a distance of 45 km from Katka to Gonde village Sonawan. 60 percent of the project amount will be spent on compensation and 40 percent on reimbursement.

NOC will have to be taken from Air Force and UPDA: For the construction of the expressway, the National Highway Department will have to take a no objection certificate from the Air Force and UPDA as well. Because the runway of Purvanchal Expressway is coming in the way of the construction of the new expressway. Also, the crossing of Purvanchal Expressway is also becoming an obstacle in the construction of the new expressway.

Half a dozen ROBs and bridges will be built

During the construction of the expressway, half a dozen ROBs and bridges will be constructed. This includes the construction of a total of half a dozen bridges including an overbridge on the Lucknow-Varanasi railway line and a six-lane flyover at a height of 18 meters at the Purvanchal Expressway crossing, six lanes on the Gomti river, bridges at the crossing of other roads. Entry of bikes and other rural vehicles is prohibited on the expressway.

Executive Engineer of National Highway Section Sultanpur Vikas Kumar Singh said that after getting NOC from UPDA and Air Force and approval of the project worth five thousand crores, the construction of the expressway will be started. Each phase will take two years. If approval is received simultaneously, then both the phases may take two years or even three years.
