Zelensky and regional governor Ivan Fedorov said that at least 13 civilians were killed in the attack. Minutes before the attack, Fedorov had warned of the danger of high-speed missiles and glide bombs in the Zaporizhia region.
Peace deal will give Russia time to attack again
‘There is nothing more cruel than aerial bombing of a city, knowing that civilians will be the targets,’ Zelensky wrote on a telegram. Earlier on Wednesday, the country that wanted to end the war must assure Ukraine that it will secure its future. Ukrainian officials fear that any ceasefire or peace agreement would give Russia time to rearm and launch an invasion. Unless it is stopped by military force.
Several major countries have called for a diplomatic end to the nearly 3-year-old war. Speaking at a press conference on the peace story, Zelensky said, ‘To be honest, I think we have the right to demand serious security guarantees from countries that want peace in the world.’
