Electricity Bill: A strange incident has come to light in California, USA. It happened that a man here found out that he has been paying his neighbor's light bill for 15 years. Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) customer Ken Wilson has been living alone in a Vacaville apartment since 2006. However, his light bill was more than his consumption. This made him suspicious and he checked with the local power company and discovered this shocking error. After this revelation, the power company has apologized.
Paying neighbor's bill for 15 years
Wilson also reduced his electricity consumption and kept track of the wattage of his electrical appliances. Despite these efforts, his meter bill kept increasing even with the breaker off. “I was trying to save electricity and reduce my costs,” Wilson told the media. “Although I tried everything to check the meter, I was not convinced. Even after I turned off the breaker, I went out to check my meter and it was still on. That's when I became suspicious.”

On getting suspicious, Wilson contacted the Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) agency for investigation and provided all the details. After investigation, it was found that he had been paying his neighbour's light bill since 2009.
The power company apologized
A PG&E official said, “Our initial investigation revealed that a customer's apartment meter number was being billed to another apartment. So the company apologized for the mistake and said they would resolve the issue.”
