On information from the villagers, Air Force officers and police reached the spot. This aircraft is used to keep an eye on espionage activities in the sky.
According to initial information, an Air Force reconnaissance aircraft had flown on Thursday to inspect the security arrangements of the border area. It is suspected that after this the plane suddenly crashed due to a technical fault and fell in a sandy area away from the populated area. However, there was no loss of life or property in the plane crash.
As soon as information about this incident was received, Air Force officials reached the incident site and took stock of the wreckage of the plane. The news of this incident spread rapidly throughout the area. After which ambulance, fire brigade and relief and rescue vehicles also reached the spot. At present the reason for this accident has not been revealed yet.
The Indian Air Force has issued a statement regarding this accident. The remote-controlled aircraft crashed near Jaisalmer on Thursday morning during a routine training flight, it said. No personnel or property were injured. An Indian Air Force Court of Inquiry has been constituted to find out the cause of the accident.
