Customs and immigration officials were left shocked after a passenger was found carrying items in his luggage at Dubai International Airport.
One of the busiest airports in the world, Dubai Airport handles millions of passengers every day. According to media reports, Dubai Customs officials searched the luggage of a passenger coming from Africa after noticing suspicious activities. In which a live snake was found near this passenger. Along with this, things like monkey's hand, dead cricket, eggs wrapped in cloth were also found in his luggage. Customs officials also seized amulets, mantras written on paper and other things from the luggage. It is believed that all these things are used for black magic. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs in Dubai has now been tasked with further investigating these cases.
According to UAE law, witchcraft or black magic is considered a crime in UAE. Even the items used for this cannot be brought into the country and if a traveler is caught, he can face jail or a fine.
However, such things have been caught at Dubai Airport before also. According to the Customs Department, various items weighing more than 68 kg were seized at Dubai Airport between 2018 and 2020, which were supposed to be used for black magic. It included fish skeletons, books of magic tricks, thumbs, nails, bones and bags stained with blood.
