A large number of companies were bankrupt in America, which broke the 15 -year -old record

Ahmedabad: The number of bankrupt companies in America is increasing rapidly. In the first quarter of 2025, 188 big companies in the US became bankrupt. Which is 49% more than the same quarter of the previous year. This is the largest number of companies bankrupt in a quarter since 2010.

Even during the 2020 Corona epidemic, this number could not cross 150. In this way, the 15 -year record of bankruptcy of big American companies has been broken. Last year, a total of 694 big companies in the country went bankrupt.

In the first quarter of 2025, 32 industrial companies were bankrupt in the US. Similarly, 24 companies of consumer sector and 13 companies in the healthcare sector have declared themselves bankrupt. It is believed that putting tariffs on foreign goods can increase inflation and recession in the country.

President Donald Trump has imposed a 245 percent tariff on China. For this reason, many American companies are preparing to cover their business from China. If they manufacture goods in America, it can be a very expensive deal for them. This means that many more companies can be bankrupt in the coming days.

In the first quarter of 2010, 254 companies went bankrupt, while the number of banks to bankrupt in the first quarter of last year was 139. Experts say that companies with weak balance sheet are facing difficulties. His debt is about to mature and he is not able to refinance him due to high interest rates.

Now their situation is going to deteriorate due to tariff war. Due to rising inflation, people will avoid spending money, which will reduce demand. This will increase the recession further.
