Lucknow, July 10 (HS). All the urban bodies of Uttar Pradesh should immediately remove the encroachments on drains in their respective areas. There should be no complaint of waterlogging, overflowing of drains and sewers from anywhere. Wherever the problem of waterlogging and flooding arises, immediately inform the headquarters through DCC and toll free number 1533. Also, all the bodies will pay special attention to regular cleaning between 05 am to 08 am, silt and garbage lifting after cleaning of drains, waterlogging and flooding. Everyone should take care that people do not face any problems during the rainy season.
Urban Development Minister A.K. Sharma said these things while giving instructions to the officials on Wednesday. He said that the cooperation of the public representatives of the bodies, regional MPs, MLAs should also be taken, so that the problem can be resolved soon. Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma was conducting a state-level public hearing through the 'Sambhav' portal at the field hostel of Jal Nigam on Wednesday. During this, he gave strict instructions to the officers and employees of all the bodies to resolve the problems of the citizens in a timely manner. The minister directed all the sanitation inspectors to ensure that markets, business establishments, shops and vendors make it mandatory to keep dustbins, so that people use dustbins instead of throwing garbage here and there.
They should make all the preparations in advance for the plantation to be done in the bodies on the day of mass tree plantation on 20th July. Clean all the dirty places and plant trees there in a planned manner on some theme. Take Van Mahotsav seriously to fulfil the plantation target of the bodies. This work is very important for the quality of life of the citizens.
Minister Shri Sharma gave instructions to seriously restart the public hearing at the body level under 'Sambhav', so that complaints can be resolved at the local level itself. He said that the good work being done by the bodies should be widely publicized through social media and other publicity mediums.
The Urban Development Minister resolved 13 serious complaints received from various sources on the 'Sambhav' portal on the spot during the public hearing. Taking cognizance of the complaint made in IGRS regarding cutting the drinking water connection of a 70-year-old woman's house in Ayodhya Municipal Corporation area and not reconnecting it even after 06 months, Minister Mr. Sharma directed the Municipal Commissioner to get her connection reconnected immediately. On the complaint of encroachment by miscreants in Madhuvan Park and Peepal Wale Park located in Indira Nagar Sector-13 of Lucknow Municipal Corporation area, Minister Mr. Sharma got it resolved immediately and got the lock of the park gate opened. Along with this, he directed the Municipal Commissioner to take strict action against the local encroachers if they do this in future.
Similarly, complaints received from Varanasi, Agra, Jhansi, Gorakhpur Municipal Corporations were resolved. During the public hearing, Secretary Urban Development Ajay Kumar Shukla, Director Urban Bodies Anuj Kumar Jha, Special Secretary, Additional Director were present and all Municipal Commissioners, Executive Officers participated virtually.
