A huge crowd of devotees gathered at Lodheshwar Mahadeva on the last Monday of the month of Savan | News India

Barabanki, 19 August (HS). On the last Monday of the month of Sawan, a historic crowd of devotees gathered at the famous ancient Shiva temple of Lodheshwar Mahadeva. Amidst tight security arrangements, about five lakh devotees prayed to Lord Shiva and offered water to him and wished for the desired results.

From Sunday evening itself, a large number of devotees started arriving at Mahadeva on two-wheelers and four-wheelers from various districts of the state including Lucknow, Unnao, Kanpur, Jalaun, Mahoba, Etah, Etawah, Jhansi, Mainpuri, Raebareli, Sitapur, Faizabad, Gonda, Bahraich. By late night, the entire fair premises were jam packed with Shiva devotees. In view of the huge crowd, the temple administration opened the doors of the temple for worship and Jalabhishek from midnight itself. Devotees were going to the temple in a queue amidst the netted barricades, carrying water, bel leaves, flowers, bhang, dhatura and worship material in a pot for Jalabhishek, chanting Bam Bam Bhole. The crowd was so huge that the police force deployed for security was sweating profusely.

SHO Kothi Santosh Kumar Singh Safdarganj, Sudhir Kumar Singh Inspector, Kumari Ratna SI, Abhishek Rai, Ramjyavan Verma, lady constable Ragini Yadav, Kavita Rawat, Pratibha Shukla are managing the crowd of devotees at the main gate of the temple. Sub Inspector Ashok Kumar Singh, Vipin Singh, lady constable Lalita Yadav, Mamta Pal, Sheetal Chauhan are handling the situation in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. SHO Jahangirabad Geeta Dwivedi, SI Sanjay Kumar, lady SI Neetu are in charge of the security arrangements at the exit gate. Sub District Magistrate Ramnagar Pawan Kumar, SDM Haidergarh Anurag Singh, Additional Magistrate KD Sharma, Judicial Sub District Magistrate Vijay Tiwari, Area Officer Ramnagar Alok Kumar Pathak, Tehsildar Bhupendra Vikram Singh are camping in the temple premises and strengthening security and law and order.

Pradhan Mahadeva Rajan Tiwari, along with his colleagues, is providing support in every possible way. Besides this, Police Station Incharge Inspector Ramnagar Ratnesh Kumar Pandey, Outpost Incharge Mahadeva Santosh Kumar Tripathi were also seen alert with heavy police force in the security arrangements. RPF and GRP Budhwal jawans are engaged in security arrangements at Kesaripur railway crossing. Shopkeepers, cart and hawkers are looking happy due to the shopping done by the huge crowd that came to the fair. The program of Poojan, Archana and Jalabhishek will continue till late night.
