East Champaran, 07 August (HS). A large quantity of animal bones were recovered from a junk shop in Bharatmahi village of Hariya police station area of the district bordering Nepal in a joint operation by SSB and police on Tuesday. It is being told that the business of animal bones was going on for years in this junk shop located near Tilave bridge on the way from Bhelahi to Noniyadih. On Tuesday also, preparations were being made to collect a large quantity of animal bones from here and send them to another place, during this time the SSB team took action and recovered the animal bones.
According to police and SSB officials, the junk shop is run by a person named Sanjay Chaurasia, whose house is in Bharatmahi village and Sanjay Chaurasia is absconding since the raid. Prior to this raid, a pickup was caught by the SSB Siswa camp team near the camp. More than 70 sacks full of animal bones were loaded on it. When a raid was conducted on another pickup during loading of junk, hundreds of sacks of animal bones were recovered from there. The SSB team is interrogating the wife of the bone trader. Pickup driver Rajan Kumar Paswan told that a person named Sanjay Chaurasia had brought him on rent in the name of loading paddy, when he came here, he started loading animal bones, when the SSB team raided. According to the Hariya police station present on the spot, the raid operation is going on till late Tuesday night. After which further action will be taken on the instructions of senior officials.
