A group of Buddhist monks from Malaysia visited various Buddhist pilgrimage sites in the state.

Lucknow, 3 December (Hindustan Reporter). There are many world famous tourist places associated with Lord Buddha in Uttar Pradesh. Buddhist followers from different countries keep coming to these places for darshan throughout the year. In this sequence, from 29th November to 02nd December, a group of Buddhist followers from Malaysia visited places like Anand Buddhist Tree, Jetavan Vihar, Kachchi and Pukki Kuti, Maheth, Golden Temple etc. Apart from this, Piprahwa Stupa, Gunwariya, Kapilvastu Museum, Buddha Theme Park were also seen in Kapilvastu. The Tourism Department is continuously working on beautifying the pilgrimage sites associated with Lord Buddha. Along with this, it is also inviting Buddhist monks to visit Uttar Pradesh by doing road shows and publicity in foreign countries. This information was given by State Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh.

Jaiveer Singh told that the holy land of Uttar Pradesh has been the workplace of Lord Buddha. He had chosen Uttar Pradesh for his preaching and it was here that he attained Mahaparinirvana. Therefore Uttar Pradesh is known as an international center of Buddhism. Under the mission, the Tourism Department is promoting Buddhist sites across the country and the world. Along with this, Buddhist followers from different countries, tour travel operators etc. are being taken to visit the places under Buddha Circuit.

The Tourism Minister said that the Buddhist monks who had come from Malaysia left for Shravasti from Lucknow. Apart from this, visited Mahaparinirvana Stupa, Auditorium Stupa, Meditation Park, Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple etc. in Kushinagar. Saw Dhamek Stupa, Chaukhandi Stupa, Moolgandh Kuti Vihar, Bodhi Tree, Museum in Sarnath. Also visited Vishwanath temple and Ganga Aarti in Lord Shiva’s city Kashi. The guests enjoyed the Ganga tour by cruise. Apart from this, we came face to face with the diversity of Kashi’s spiritual nature and antiquity.
