A group of 763 Indian devotees left for Pakistan to celebrate Gurupurva.

Chandigarh, 14 November (HS). A group of Indian Sikh devotees left for Pakistan via Attari-Bagha border on Thursday to celebrate the 555th Prakash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. This group will return to India after 10 days on 23 November. 763 devotees from different states of India including Punjab left amid the cheers of Satnam Waheguru.

Secretary of Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee, Sardar Pratap Singh said that passports of 2244 pilgrims were sent to the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi, out of which the embassy has issued visas to 763 pilgrims. He said that 1481 pilgrims were not given visas by the embassy. He said that the cancellation of visas of a large number of Sikh pilgrims is unfortunate. He said that the group is being led by Shiromani Committee member Gurnam Singh Jasal, while the deputy leader of the group is Shiromani Committee member Bibi Sharanjit Kaur and General Manager in-charge Palwinder Singh and Gurmeet Singh.
