A garden, playground and bus depot will be built by removing the waste from Sarona Taching Ground

Raipur, 22 April (HS). Raipur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Abinash Mishra on Monday inspected the Sarona trenching ground, where the work of removing waste is going on. He gave instructions to speed up the work here.

Along with Corporation Commissioner Mishra, Nodal Officer of Swachh Bharat Mission Abhiyan Raghumani Pradhan, Yogesh Kadu, Deputy Commissioner RK Dongre, Health Officer Trupti Panigrahi and Zone Commissioner of Zone No. 8 Arun Dhruv and other officials were also present there. Mishra also discussed with the officer of the agency engaged in disposal of waste there. He also expressed his displeasure regarding the machines used in cleaning work. He said that the work should be completed as soon as possible by installing more machines.

Nodal officer Yogesh Kadu said that about four and a half kilos of garbage was present in Sarona. Out of which 1.25 lakh waste has been treated. The food which was fit for compost is being used as compost. The waste which was of no use is being sent to cement factories and used as coal. During the inspection, Mishra said that care should be taken to ensure that this place is not occupied by anyone illegally. He said that in this 40-acre site owned by the corporation, as per the norms of NGT, a garden and playground should be created by planting saplings on the vacant land here. Besides, a plan was also made to build a bus depot here. A city bus depot will be built in a few acres here. In which 100 city buses can be kept together.
