Bhagalpur, September 24 (HS). The 55th foundation day of National Service Scheme (NSS) was celebrated with great pomp at Tilkamanjhi Bhagalpur University on Tuesday. The function was organized in the multipurpose auditorium. The program was inaugurated by TMBU Vice Chancellor Prof. Jawahar Lal by lighting the lamp.

While addressing the program organized on the 55th NSS Day, the Vice Chancellor said that the NSS unit of the university has come a long way. Due to good leadership, the current NSS coordinator is doing a good job. Media also plays an important role in promoting and publicizing the spirit of NSS and its work. He thanked the local media personnel and their editor for this. The Vice Chancellor said that the volunteers of NSS are engaged in national service. Nation is first. NSS awakens the spirit of national service and social service among the students. NSS is full of social concern. Along with this, NSS develops the spirit of nationalism. NSS has been established in the country on the thinking and vision of the first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

He talked about Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat and Aatmanirbhar Bharat in his address. Youths have an important role in realizing the dream of a developed India by 2047. Serve the nation with the resolve of Meri Mati Mera Desh. The Vice Chancellor also felicitated SHO Vishwavidyalaya Thana Supriya Kumari and directed the NSS Coordinator to give a special certificate to the SHO as well. The SHO had helped the students of PG Girls Hostel to come out of the hostel located in Lalbagh safely during the flood disaster.

DSW Do Bijendra Kumar said that NSS is working at the educational and social level. Students can advance their career through NSS. NSS awakens the spirit of service to humanity. During this, the Best Program Officer Award from affiliated college was given to Dr. Irshad Alam and the Best Program Officer Award of affiliated college was given to Varun Tanti of Tidar College. While the Best Affiliated College Award was given to SM College Bhagalpur and the Best Affiliated College Award was given to Puran Mal Bajoria Teachers Training College.
