A dragnet of expressways will be laid in UP! Yogi government approves 4 new expressway projects worth ₹47,600 crore, know the complete route and plan

Yogi government has taken another historic step to strengthen the infrastructure and world-class connectivity in Uttar Pradesh, which has earned its identity as ‘Expressway State’. The UP Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has approved 4 major projects worth over ₹47,600 crore to expand the state’s expressway network. Under this major decision, two new independent expressways will be built in the state as well as two new ‘Greenfield Link Expressways’ connecting the major expressways will be constructed. Know which are these 4 new expressway projects: Vindhya Expressway: Estimated cost: ₹ 26,315 crore Length and route: This will be a 333 km long 6-lane (8-lane expandable) greenfield expressway. It will start from Prayagraj (Judapur Dandu, the ending point of Ganga Expressway) and will reach Chhattisgarh border via Bhadohi, Mirzapur, Robertsganj of Sonbhadra and Renukoot. Benefits: Religious and tourist centers like Prayagraj and Vindhyachal (Mirzapur) as well as mineral and industrial areas of Sonbhadra will get direct and fast connectivity. Vindhya-Purvanchal Spur Link: Estimated cost: ₹9,039 crore Route: This 117 km long spur link between Ghazipur to Chunar (Mirzapur) and Chandauli will connect Purvanchal and Vindhya regions. Agra-Lucknow to Purvanchal Link Expressway: Estimated cost: ₹4,775.84 crore Length: 50.98 km long 6-lane greenfield link route, which will directly connect the Agra-Lucknow Expressway to the Purvanchal Expressway. Agra-Lucknow to Ganga Expressway Link (via Farrukhabad): Estimated Cost: ₹7,488.74 crore Length: 90.84 km long This 6-lane link expressway will connect the Agra-Lucknow Expressway to the under-construction Ganga Expressway via Farrukhabad. A strong ‘Expressway Grid’ will be constructed, the work will be completed in 36 months. The main objective of the government is to create an integrated ‘Expressway Grid’ by connecting the major expressways (Agra-Lucknow, Purvanchal, Bundelkhand and Ganga Expressway) coming from different corners of the state. This will drastically reduce travel time, save fuel and make logistics in the state extremely easy. The developer companies will be selected through a tender process on EPC model and the construction is targeted to be completed within 36 months after the start of work.
