Bijnor, August 14 (HS) | On Wednesday, August 14, a delegation led by Bijnor District President of Bhartiya Kisan Union Lokshakti, Choudhary Veer Singh Sahrawat met District Magistrate Ankit Kumar Aggarwal and apprised him of the problems of the farmers of Dabasowala area.
It is noteworthy that for the last 12 years, sugarcane is purchased by Dwarikesh Sugar Mill Bundki by setting up a sugarcane purchase center in Dabasowala village, which reaches the sugar mill via about 500 to 700 meters of canal track. In this monsoon season 2024-2025, a notice has been issued to Bundki Sugar Mill by the Canal Department that this year they will not allow the sugarcane of the center to be taken on the canal track. Due to this, Dwarikesh Sugar Mill Bundki is refusing to set up its sugarcane purchase center in Dabasowala village area.
District President Mr. Sahrawat said that a large number of farmers of the area go to Bundki Sugar Mill through the sugarcane center, if the purchase center is not set up due to the stubbornness of the canal department, then where will the farmers go to sell their sugarcane. After which the District Magistrate assured the farmers that the purchase center of Bundki Sugar Mill will be set up in village Dabasowala itself.
District President Choudhary Veer Singh Sahrawat said that if this does not happen then the Bharatiya Kisan Union Lokshakti Organisation will be forced to launch a big movement against the canal department, the complete responsibility of which will be of the government administration.
National General Secretary Choudhary Padam Singh, Divisional Vice President Ramkumar Singh, District Chief General Secretary Gaurav Chaudhary, Kiratpur Block President Arun Kumar, Aman Singh, Bhudev Singh, Ranveer Singh, Kamal Singh, Prashant Kumar, Shaupal Singh, Ravindra, Malkhan, Mahendra Singh, Gajendra Singh, Deepak Kumar etc. were present in the delegation.
