
To make Uttar Pradesh the most attractive and competitive investment destination in the country, the process of industrial reforms is progressing rapidly under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. In this series, located in Lucknow on Monday ‘A very important and high level investment dialogue was organized at Invest UP’s office.
The meeting was attended by around 100 plywood industry representatives and potential investors from various states of the country including West Bengal, Haryana, Delhi, Karnataka and Punjab. The state government has assured investors that all their practical suggestions and issues will be directly put before Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to make Uttar Pradesh the biggest hub in the sector.
Special policy will come for plywood and agroforestry, neighboring states will be studied
Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner (IIDC) of Uttar Pradesh Deepak Kumar shared the future priorities of the state government in the meeting:

Dedicated Policy: He announced that the Uttar Pradesh government is moving rapidly towards formulating a dedicated and future-oriented policy for the plywood and agro-forestry industry.

Study of neighboring states: To make the policy of UP the best and competitive in the country, the industrial policies of neighboring states like Haryana, Punjab and Uttarakhand will be studied in depth.

Participation of Industrialists: The special committee that will be formed to formulate the policy will include government officials as well as representatives of the Plywood Federation so that policies can be made as per the needs of the ground level.
Allotment of land will be done within 6 months, 4-5 new industrial clusters will be reserved.
To ensure that investors do not face any problem in starting business in Uttar Pradesh, Invest UP Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Vijay Kiran Anand informed about major diplomatic benefits from the government:

Cluster Based Development: The State Government is identifying 4 to 5 large industrial clusters from its existing government land bank, which will be reserved exclusively for the development of plywood and allied industries.

Instant Land Allotment: If any big investor requires additional land apart from the identified cluster, the Uttar Pradesh government will not only provide the land to him but within 6 months Its allocation will also be ensured.

Broad Sectoral Policies: The CEO said that more than 36 sectoral policies, employment support schemes and capital subsidies of UP provide a safe environment to investors to expand in the manufacturing sector.
Plywood Federation’s suggestion: “One Industrial Park” built on the lines of ODOP
During the dialogue, representatives of Plywood Federation described this industry as the backbone of rural development, agriculture and employment of Uttar Pradesh. He implemented the scheme in the state on the lines of Uttar Pradesh’s ambitious scheme ‘One District One Product’ (ODOP). “One Industrial Park” Gave an excellent suggestion for developing the model.
Along with this, the industrialists also highlighted some of the main practical challenges faced by the officials in business operations:
