A dealer arrested with banned cough syrup and cash

Araria 15 July (HS). These days drug dealers are quite active in the India Nepal border areas. After the liquor ban, banned codeine-containing cough syrup is being used on a large scale by addicts as an alternative. In slum areas, banned codeine-containing cough syrup is sold to addicts at high prices.

A large number of Nepalese citizens also reach the Indian region adjacent to Nepal to drink cough syrup containing the banned codeine. Under this, on Monday, Jogbani Police Station Police and SSB, based on a secret information, conducted a joint raid in Amauna village under Jogbani Police Station area and arrested Mohammad Mukarram with 160 bottles of cough syrup containing banned codeine and 42,100 rupees. Giving information about this, Jogbani Police Station Head Rajiv Kumar Azad said that after registering a case at the police station, the arrested accused has been sent to jail in judicial custody.
