Amreli: The rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata's R.G. Kar Medical College has sparked a strong reaction across the country. A complaint has been filed against Dr. Gajera, the doctor who brandished a licensed revolver during a rally in Amreli to protest against the incident.

In fact, a candle march of doctors was taken out from Shantaba Medical Hospital in Amreli to Rajkamal Chowk on Saturday night in protest against the rape and murder of a female doctor yesterday. Meanwhile, senior doctor GJ Gajera took out his licensed pistol and called the doctors and said that from now on doctors will have to carry weapons.

Dr. Gajera, Amreli district president of the International Hindu Parishad, further said, “It doesn’t matter if you carry a weapon with a license and I say publicly that it doesn’t matter if you carry a name.”

Meanwhile, an investigation has been launched on a complaint filed at the Amreli City Police Station regarding Dr Gajera publicly displaying the licensed revolver in his hand and causing public nuisance in a manner that causes fear among people, violating license conditions and violating firearm declaration.
