'Indian Society for Buddhist Studies' (Indian Society for Buddhist Studies) has been organizing conferences at different places for the last 24 years to understand Mahatma Buddha from all aspects. This time the conference was organized at Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University, the land of Kalidas. This was the 24th conference. A river of discussion and dialogue flowed for three consecutive days on the issue of what is the relevance of Buddha's thoughts in the context of the twenty-first century. Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University Ramtek (Nagpur) Named after Kalidas in Maharashtra, Ramtek was constructed in 1997. Kalidas was a great poet and playwright of Sanskrit language. He based his work on Indian mythology and philosophy. 'Meghdoot' is a masterpiece of Kalidas in which the poet has tried to bring out the humanization of nature through imagination. However, various references are made regarding the birthplace of Kalidasa. In 'Meghdoot' his love for Ujjain shows that he was a resident of Ujjain. Famous Hindi writer Mohan Rakesh has composed the play 'Haar Da Ek Din' based on the life of Kalidas.

Ramtek is a tehsil in Nagpur district of Maharashtra, 50 km from Nagpur. It is also famous for Shri Ram Temple. These hills are also called 'Sindhugiri Hills'. The Ram temple situated on the hill of Ramtek is also famous because Ram stayed here during his exile. Its indications are also found in 'Valmik Ramayana'. That is why its name is Ramtek. A memorial of the epic poet Kalidas is also present here, in which the history of the creation of 'Meghdoot' is recorded.

Although Narasimha Rao, the then Prime Minister of India, independently created the Sanskrit University, Nayak, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, handed it over to Shrikant Jichkar. More than 200 research students participated in the conference. More than 100 research papers were presented on Pali language/literature/Buddhist culture/religion/Asia/Indian languages/history etc. In this conference, the research paper of research student Arak Prabha Chatterjee was awarded the first prize.
