A cheque of Rs 4 lakh was given to the guardian of the deceased child

Jorhat (Assam), July 14 (HS). On Sunday, a cheque of Rs 4 lakh as ex-gratia was given to the family of a one-year-old child of village number one Kawaimari of Janjimukh. It is known that on Friday, an 11-month-old child died after falling into flood water from the top of a scaffolding inside the house.

Within 24 hours of the incident, on the instructions of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, a cheque for financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh was handed over to the child's parents. The cheque was presented by local MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi.
