A bus driver in Nepal sacrificed his life to save the lives of 30 passengers

Kathmandu, July 12 (HS). The night between Thursday and Friday was the most terrifying night for bus passengers in Nepal. While two passenger vehicles drowned in the river due to landslide, an incident has come to light in which the bus driver saved the lives of 30 passengers by sacrificing his own life.

According to local officials, due to landslides caused by heavy rains, large stones were continuously falling on the road along with debris from the mountains. Meanwhile, a passenger bus coming from Butwal to Kathmandu with 30 passengers got hit by these stones near Narayangarh Mugling on the way. A passenger in this bus told the police that a large stone fell on the front windshield of the driver, 36-year-old Meghraj Vik, due to which the driver was seriously injured. The driver showed immediate presence of mind and applied the brakes of the bus, which saved the bus from falling into the ditch. Passengers told that a large debris fell from the mountain in front of their eyes at a distance from where the bus had stopped, due to which the road was blocked.

Due to the bus driver applying brakes, no passenger was hurt and everyone was saved from a major accident. Chitwan police said that the driver died on the way to the hospital due to severe head injury and excessive bleeding. Chitwan police took all the passengers off the bus and took them to a safe place.
