The girl's mother has said in a petition in the High Court that the girl was allegedly raped by her 14-year-old brother and a case has been registered against him.

The medical board has said that pregnancy is likely to have a serious impact on the mental and physical health of the child. After abortion, the hospital has to provide counseling to the girl. The hospital has also been directed to retain the appropriate tissue sample of the fetus and hand over the DNA sample to the investigating officer for criminal proceedings.
