Age is just a number and if the will is strong then every obstacle surrenders before faith. A similar scene was seen in a famous hill temple of South India, which brought tears to the eyes of every devotee present there. An elderly 116 year old Amma, with the help of her stick and unwavering faith in God, climbed the extremely difficult 3,550 stairs of the temple and reached the summit. In this age where it becomes difficult for people to walk, this spirit of Amma was no less than a miracle.
Temple administration stopped the queues
As soon as the news reached the temple management that an elderly woman who had crossed a century was climbing the stairs herself, there was a commotion there. The chief officials and priests of the temple took a big decision keeping in mind the respect of Amma and her safety. The administration stopped the regular queues of common devotees for some time so that the elderly Amma could be saved from crowding.
Amma got VIP honor and special blessings
By stopping the rest of the queues, the temple management made a special path for the elderly Amma. He was taken straight to the sanctum sanctorum, where he was given VIP darshan of the Lord. The chief priest himself made Amma sit near the sanctum and performed special puja, presented her with Angavastra and took her blessings by bowing his head at her feet. Other devotees present in the temple premises also witnessed this historic and emotional moment and the entire valley echoed with ‘cheers’.
