A 105-year-old woman casts her vote in Dhanbad

Dhanbad, May 25 (HS). In the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections, a 105-year-old woman cast her vote at the polling booth set up at Gurunanak Madhya Vidyalaya in Dhanbad. She reached the booth with the help of a plastic table.

Despite being physically handicapped and unable to walk alone, elderly Mabiwa Sumitra Devi was amazed to see her enthusiasm for voting. Her son Sujit Kumar said that his mother has always been aware and enthusiastic about voting. Since this morning, she was very excited to go to the polling booth and cast her vote. Seeing her enthusiasm for voting, people in our house and nearby areas also get a lot of inspiration.

On the other hand, around 3,400 voters of booth numbers 398, 399 and 400 in Sindri of Dhanbad Lok Sabha constituency have boycotted the voting. Since morning, the presiding officer and other polling staff kept waiting for the voters to come to the booth but no voter has reached the booth yet to vote. Instead of voting, the villagers are planting trees in the area. At present, police and administration officials have reached Sindri Basti to persuade them to vote.
