Uttarakhand: A flurry of transfers in Uttarakhand, 45 officers including 39 IAS officers transferred | News India

The Uttarakhand government on Wednesday made a major change in the portfolios of IAS and PCS officers. Sources said that the departments of two chief secretaries and eight other secretaries have been reshuffled. The departments of a total of 45 officers have been changed, including 39 IAS officers.

Ramesh Kumar Sudhanshu, a 1997 batch IAS officer, has taken over as Principal Secretary of the Revenue Department. However, he will continue to hold the post of Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Principal Secretary in the Forest, Environmental Protection and Climate Change Department. The charge of Principal Secretary Minority Welfare and Chairman Minority Welfare and Waqf Development Corporation has been taken away from Laliran Laina Fanai of 1997 batch. Ranjit Kumar Sinha has been given both the responsibilities in his place. Fanai will take over the post of Principal Secretary of Excise Department and Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department. The Chairman of the Transport Department will also have this responsibility.

This also includes 5 PCS officers.

Apart from this, eight other secretary level officers have also been transferred. In which Deepak Rawat has been given additional responsibility in place of Chief Minister's Secretary R. Meenakshi. Ravinath Raman has been made Higher Education Secretary in place of Shailesh Bagauli. Pankaj Kumar Pandey will be the new Labor Secretary in place of R. Meenakshi and the new Chairman of Uttarakhand Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. The officers whose sections have been changed include one IFS and five PCS officers.
