Punjab Weather Update: After the rain of the last two days in Punjab and Chandigarh, the monsoon has started slowing down once again. The monsoon will return by the end of this month. But people can get relief from the heat by September 15. During the last 24 hours, there was rain in some areas adjoining Haryana. The average temperature in Pathankot dropped by 1.3 degrees and the maximum temperature was recorded at 34.6 degrees.
According to the Meteorological Center (IMD), no rain alert has been issued in Punjab today. Light rain is expected in Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar and Mohali. Along with this, light rain may occur in Chandigarh today. According to IMD, only pocket rain will be seen in Punjab and Chandigarh in the next 7 days. But there will not be much change in temperature. The maximum temperature in most cities of Punjab can remain around 35 degrees.

In North India, IMD has put Himachal Pradesh along with Punjab and Chandigarh in the red zone. The rainfall has been much less than normal. According to the Meteorological Department, from June 1 to September 4, Himachal Pradesh received 20 percent less rainfall, while Chandigarh and Punjab received 22 percent less rainfall.
Mohali received the least rainfall this season in Punjab. The normal rainfall is 496.6 mm, but this season it received only 209.2 mm, which is 58 percent less. Similarly, Bathinda normally receives 239.3 mm of rainfall, but this season it received only 103.3 percent of the rainfall.
While SBS Nagar received 64 per cent less rain, Moga-Firozpur received 50 per cent less and Hoshiarpur received 47 per cent less rain. 15 districts of Punjab received less than normal rainfall. Similarly, Chandigarh normally receives 699.2 mm of rain, which was only 513.2 mm this season.
