Kumar, a registered pharmacist and health expert from Delhi, also believes that drinking water after eating banana can be harmful.

Should one not drink water after eating banana?
According to Ayurveda, one should not drink water after eating any fruit. In such a situation, it is advised not to drink water even after eating banana because it is digested slowly. If water is drunk after eating banana, it can cause problems like gas, constipation, stomach ache and acidity.

Drinking water immediately after eating banana can also cause problems like cold, cough and allergies. This is the reason why Ayurveda recommends drinking water immediately after eating this fruit.

One should not drink water after eating banana because it increases the amount of insulin in the body. Drinking water after eating banana can increase the blood sugar level. Diabetic patients should especially avoid drinking water after eating banana.

How long after eating banana should one drink water?
According to Ayurveda, water should be drunk only after one hour of eating banana. Even in case of extreme thirst, it is advisable to drink liquids only after one hour. After eating banana, along with water, some other things should also be avoided.
