Agreement reached with two separatist organizations of Tripura in presence of Union Home Minister | News India

New Delhi, September 4 (HS). A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between representatives of the Government of India, Government of Tripura, National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) in New Delhi on Wednesday in the presence of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, senior officials of the Home Ministry and Tripura Government and leaders of both organizations were present during the signing of the agreement.

On this occasion, the Union Home Minister said that with today's agreement, 328 workers of both the organizations will join the mainstream. He assured that the Central Government will ensure the implementation of the agreement in letter and spirit. The government will work towards the development of the region and eradicating the causes of alienation. The government has made a provision of Rs 2500 crore for the development of the region. This will lead to the development of the tribal area.

He said that the Modi government has followed every agreement to the letter. We have implemented the agreements with the spirit of our hearts. The result is that people are joining the mainstream and becoming partners in development. The Modi government is working for a capable and developed Northeast in an environment of dialogue and peace. Apart from road, rail and plane, the government is also working to reduce the distance of hearts.

The Home Minister said that the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has signed 12 important agreements to restore peace and prosperity in the Northeast, out of which 3 are related to the state of Tripura. Due to these agreements of the Modi government, about 10 thousand people have given up arms and joined the mainstream of society. He said that today's agreement will end the deadlock that has been going on for 35 years.
