To conduct the Haryana Vidhan Sabha general elections in a peaceful, free and fair manner, the presiding and assistant presiding officers were given training about the complete process of EVM and VVPAT at Jain Public School located at Rewari district headquarters on Wednesday. During this, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Abhishek Meena also gave necessary guidelines to the presiding and assistant presiding officers.
On this occasion, CEO District Rural Development Agency Vikas Yadav gave on-hand training of EVM and VVPAT. The master trainer gave detailed information about the entire process of EVM and VVPAT to the presiding and assistant presiding officers by telling them. The presiding and assistant presiding officers were told how to use the electronic voting machine on the day of voting and how to conduct a mock poll in the presence of polling agents.
Addressing the presiding and assistant presiding officers, the District Election Officer said that conducting the elections is a very sensitive and responsible job and the presiding and assistant presiding officers have to do this job with full devotion and honesty. He said that after handling the election material, the presiding officer should reach his booth and first inspect the booth. There should not be any politician's photo or sticker etc. inside the booth. The EVM machine should be placed away from the window in the polling booth so that the secrecy of voting is maintained. Keep in mind that every voter presses the EVM button himself.
Keep in mind that no other person goes near the EVM along with the voter. He said that the voting process has special importance in democracy. He said that the concerned officer should ensure that there should not be any kind of promotional material within 200 meters of the polling booths. In this training camp, the participating POs and APOs were given necessary information about mock poll, elderly voters above 85 years of age, more than 40 percent disabled voters voting from home, Form 12-A for EDC, Form 12 for postal ballot, various forms related to polling station.
