Jagdalpur, September 4 (HS). Today, on Wednesday morning, in the presence of top CRPF officials, in the native village of martyr Devendra Sethia, Dhobiguda, near the Bastar district headquarters, after offering a wreath to the photograph of the martyr with full respect in the new primary school in village Dhobiguda, slogans of Bharat Mata ki Jai were raised, after which the school was dedicated to the name of martyr Devendra Sethia.
It is noteworthy that Devendra Sethia, born in village Dhobiguda, was martyred in an IED blast planted by Naxalites in the month of April, after which 5 months later the primary school built in his native village was named after martyr Devendra Kumar Sethia. During this, top officials of CRPF as well as family members were also present.
It is noteworthy that in view of the Lok Sabha elections, a CRPF party had gone out for area domination in village Galgam of Usur police station area of Bijapur district on 19 April 2024, during which CRPF constable Devendra Sethia suffered serious injuries in his leg, waist and hand due to UBGL blast, who was taken to the district hospital for treatment. In view of his critical condition, he was sent to Mecoz with the help of helicopter. Devendra Sethia was martyred before reaching Mecoz.
The family members of martyr Constable Devendra Sethiya told that Devendra had joined CRPF in the year 2013, after that he was posted in Assam for several years, after that he was in CRPF battalion in Bhadrachalam about 2 years ago, then he was posted in 196 battalion in Bijapur about 8 months ago, due to Diyari festival in January he had taken a month's leave, then went back to his duty in Bijapur, on 19th April at around 3 am he sent a birthday message to his younger brother Yogendra over the phone, after that he went for search operation with his companions, after which he attained martyrdom.
