New Delhi, September 4 (HS). Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh said that the country's textile industry is expected to grow to US $ 350 billion by the year 2030 and create 35 million jobs. During the curtain raiser program of 'Bharat Tex 2025' organized at Vanijya Bhavan, Giriraj Singh said that India will be recognized on the world stage for its 'Bharat' brand and green sustainable textile products. The Central Government's PLI scheme for the textile industry will enable the apparel industry to increase production and promote its branding. Union Minister of State for Textiles and External Affairs, Pabitra Margherita, Textile Secretary Rachna Shah and other senior officials of the ministry were also present on the occasion.
He said that with innovation, collaboration and Make in India spirit, this event symbolizes the Prime Minister's 5F vision – from farm to fiber to factory to fashion to abroad. He urged all stakeholders and state governments to participate equally in this event. On this occasion, Textile Secretary Rachna Shah said that the last India Tex 2024 was a successful event. This time also this event will be taken to new heights. People associated with the textile sector from all over the world will participate in it.
It is noteworthy that India Tex 2025 is a global event, which is being organized by a consortium of textile export promotion councils (EPCs) and supported by the Ministry of Textiles. India Tex 2025, to be held from February 14-17, 2025, will take place at two state-of-the-art locations. This time it will be organized simultaneously at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi and India Expo Center & Mart, Greater Noida. The main event will be held at Bharat Mandapam from February 14-17, 2025 and exhibitions will be held at India Expo Center & Mart, Greater Noida from February 12-15, 2025. It will cover the entire value chain of textiles, exhibitions related to handicrafts, garment machinery, ethnic apparel will be organized. Spread across 200,000 square metres, the event will host over 5,000 exhibitors, 6,000 international buyers from over 110 countries and over 1,20,000 visitors are expected to attend this year's event. Around 100 international speakers are also scheduled to take part in the event.
The Bharat Tex exhibition will include apparel, home furnishings, floor coverings, fibres, yarns, threads, fabrics, carpets, silk, textile-based handicrafts, technical textiles and more. In addition, exhibitions on handicrafts and apparel machinery, display of tribal apparel will be held at the sister venue of India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida.
The Textile Festival will offer a wide range of activities, a global-sized trade fair and expo, a global-scale textile conference, seminars, CEO roundtables and B2B and G2G meetings. It will also feature strategic investment announcements, product launches and collaborations designed to reshape the global textile industry. Attendees can look forward to live demonstrations, cultural events and fashion presentations, designer and brand exhibitions, and sustainability workshops and expert talks.
