An Air India flight from New Delhi to Visakhapatnam received a bomb threat. However, after receiving the threat call, investigation revealed that it was a rumour. Visakhapatnam Airport Director S Raja Reddy said that the Delhi Police received the bomb threat call and the airline and Visakhapatnam airport were alerted.
The flight from Delhi to Visakhapatnam was landed safely and after a thorough search of the aircraft, no suspect was found and the entire matter was investigated and treated as a rumour.

A few days ago, an IndiGo flight from Jabalpur to Hyderabad had to be landed in Nagpur after a bomb threat. After this, the airline said that flight 6E-7308 was diverted after a bomb threat was found in a note left in the washroom of the aircraft. Even then the official had said that nothing suspicious was found even after a thorough search by the security agencies.
In another incident in August, a full emergency was declared at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport after a bomb threat was received on an Air India flight from Mumbai. According to PTI, the 135 passengers on the plane were taken to an isolation bay and screened.
